Injuries By Body Part in Horley & Reigate

Here at SB Physiotherapy, we help patients both in-centre and out in the community suffering from common injuries that require rehabilitation. Working closely with our team, our trained physiotherapists will create tailored treatment plans to facilitate a full recovery.

Based in Horley, we treat patients across the region, taking in nearby Reigate and the wider Surrey region. As award-winning physiotherapists, we have over a decade of experience helping patients regain their strength and mobility, plus alleviate discomfort. Below, we discuss the most common types of injuries we deal with on a daily basis.

Shoulder Injury Treatment

Shoulder injuries are prevalent in overhead sports, like basketball and tennis, or jobs involving reaching above, such as painting and decorating.

As a joint designed to move in all directions, shoulders are vulnerable to strains, sprains and torn ligaments. We regularly treat injured rotator cuffs (the shoulder muscles and tendons that surround the joint), shoulder blades and collar bone (clavicle).

Knee Injuries

Knee injuries are very common. A hinge joint, knees can often suffer wear and tear from overactivity, resulting in sprains, and more acute injuries, such as from collision sports like rugby and football. We regularly help patients who have suffered from twisted knees, dislocations and torn ligaments.

Neck Injuries

Part of the spine, the neck is made up of complex muscle systems that allow it to move in different directions. Neck injuries include strains, sprains, herniated discs, stress fractures and pinched nerves. We can also support patients suffering neck problems as a result of poor posture.

Elbow Injuries

Like the knee, the elbow is a hinge joint, so it can suffer from wear and tear with overuse, whether through sports or other repetitive movements. We often come across tendonitis and tendinopathy alongside fractures, sprains and torn ligaments.

Back Injuries

Back problems are common, with the spine taking a lot of pressure from heavy lifting, bending, twisting and trauma. We treat a variety of back injuries, including sprains, herniated discs, stress fractures and pinched nerves.

Ankle Injuries

Ankle injuries include strains, sprains or tears of ligaments and tendons, as well as tendonitis, stress fractures, dislocations and contusions. A hinge joint, ankle injuries can commonly occur through running, dancing or any other weight-bearing sport or activity.

Foot Injuries

Central to any weight-bearing sport or physical activity, we often treat a range of foot injuries, including broken bones and torn muscles.

Hand, Wrist & Finger Injuries

Hands, wrists and fingers are made up of multiple and complex bone and muscle systems, making injuries common. Repetitive strain injury is something we come across often, especially with people in the workplace.
